Areas
Catalonia
A diverse region with vibrant cities, rugged coastlines and the Pyrenees. Strong infrastructure, excellent transport and a mix of coastal resort and inland authentic towns. Includes Costa Brava, Costa Dorada and Terres de l'Ebre.
What British movers should know
Good infrastructure, strong transport links, established property market. The most economically dynamic region in coastal Spain. Catalan language alongside Spanish is part of daily life. Costa Brava is pricier and less 'British' than other costas.
Costas in Catalonia
Costa Dorada
The Golden Coast — family-friendly resorts, excellent beaches, Roman Tarragona and PortAventura. Well-connected and developed.
Terres de l'Ebre
A quieter, more authentic southern Catalonia — river deltas, rice fields, medieval towns and coastline. Strong for relocation, not tourism-driven.
Costa Brava
The Wild Coast — rocky coves, medieval villages and a more upmarket, northern European profile. Girona province. Less 'British package' and more French, Belgian and Dutch second-home owners.
